Nanangenine B
Application Notes
The nanangenines are newly discovered drimane sesquiterpenoid metabolites from a hitherto undescribed Australian fungus, Aspergillus nanangensis. Nanangenine B is a drimane lactone bearing a C6 acyl side chain. Nanangenine C has weak activity against B. subtilis (IC50 62 μg/mL) and NS-1 cell line (IC50 38 μg/mL) but was inactive against tumor cell lines (mouse myeloma NS-1 cell, human prostate DU-145 and human breast adenocarcinoma MC-7) and neonatal foreskin. The nanangenines did not exhibit Gram negative antibacterial, herbicidal or antifungal activity.
