Application Notes
5,7,8-Trimethoxydictamnine (acronycidine) is a methoxy-substituted furoquinoline alkaloid isolated from Acronychia baueri and Melicope fareana by Price and colleagues at CSIRO, Australia, in 1950. 5,7,8-Trimethoxydictamnine was subsequently isolated from other Rutaceae found in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. 5,7,8-Trimethoxydictamnine is active against susceptible (HB3) and resistant (W-2) strains of Plasmodium falciparum with IC50 19.9 and 5.7 µg/mL, respectively.
