Shearinine A
Application Notes
Shearinine A is an indole triterpene first isolated from the sclerotia of a Pencillium sp. by Gloer and colleagues, USDA, Illinois in 1995. Shearinine A is structurally related to the janthitrems and exhibits potent antiinsectan activity in dietary assays of the corn earworm Helicoverpa zea and the dried-fruit beetle Carpophilus hemipteru. Shearinine A also exhibits activity in a topical assay of H. zea. Shearinine A was patented in 1996.
