Mitorubrin
Application Notes
Mitorubrin is an azaphilone isolated from the phytotoxic fungus, Penicillium rubrum. Mitorubrin is a weak antifungal and inhibitor of geranylgeranyl transferase. Mitorubrin and its derivatives were patented in Japan in 1996 as dihydrofolate reductase inhibitors for the treatment of protozoal diseases.
