Diaporthin
Application Notes
Diaporthin is an isocoumarin phytotoxin produced by the fungus Cryphonectria (Endothia) parasitica, first reported by Bazzigher in 1953 and subsequently reported in a diversity of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi. Diaporthin has been identified as one of the causative agents of chestnut blight and wilting of tomato shoots. Diapthorin, together with orthosporin, has been reported to exhibit antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and some fungi.
