Chevalone E
Application Notes
Chevalone E is a minor analogue of the meroterpenoid chevalone family, isolated from Aspergillus similanensis by researchers in Portugal. Chevalone E is closely related to the aszonapyrones and sartorypyrones. Chevalone E is synergistic when used with oxacillin against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) but not with ampicillin. Other members of the chevalone family show weak activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and tumor cell lines.
