Acemin I is a secondary metabolite produced by endophytic Acremonium species and other fungi. Members of the family are reported to have antibacterial and phytotoxic activity, with acremins A – D inhibiting the germination of sporangia of P. viticola. The total synthesis of acremin I has been reported.
