Multiflorenol
Application Notes
Multiflorenol is a triterpenoid found in the geranium family and other flowering plants, first isolated and the structure elucidated by Khastgir and Sengupta in 1961. Multiflorenol was subsequently isolated by Ritchie and Taylor from the Australian plant, Melicope octandra, in 1976. Multiflorenol inhibits histamine release induced by antigen-antibody reaction. Multiflorenol is inactive against HeLa human cervical, HL-60 human hepatoma, and SMMC-7721 human hepatoma cell lines.
