Sporminarin A is a planar polyketide reported in 2006 by Gloer and co-workers, University of Iowa, USA, from Sporormiella minimoides isolated from Trametes hirsutum. Sporminarin A is a linear carboxylic acid characterised by a tetraenol chromophore. Sporminarin A is active against Aspergillus flavus but lack of availability has prevented further investigation of this interesting metabolite.
