Quinic acid, D-
Application Notes
D-Quinic acid is a crystalline acid with an astringent flavor obtained from cinchona bark, coffee beans, tobacco leaves, carrot leaves, fruits and vegetables. D-Quinic acid is an intermediate in fine chemical and drug production and is a useful scaffold for chiral syntheses. D-Quinic acid has inherent biological activity as a neuroprotectant.
