Application Notes
Preterremide C (3,4,5-trimethoxy-2-(2-(nicotinamido)benzamido)benzoate) is a fungal metabolite first reported isolated from a strain of Aspergillus terreus by researchers at Kanazawa University in Japan in 1981 and identified as “Compound IX”, then re-named preterremide C given its precursor relationship by conversion to the quinazoline terremide C reported by researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. Preterremide C exhibits weak antibacterial and antitumor activity.
