Phoenicin
Application Notes
Phoenicin was first reported by Posternak in 1938 as a yellow pigment produced by Penicillium sp. Phoenicin shares a common biosynthetic pathway with oosporein. Phoenicin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase in a time-dependent, irreversible manner.
