Ornithine lactam , D-
Application Notes
D-Ornithine lactam is the “unnatural” isomer the endogenous metabolite, L-ornithine lactam which when found in excess in plasma is a measure of a rare autosomal recessive disorder of the urea cycle. A possible role for D-ornithine lactam as a bioactive co-metabolite has received little attention. To date D-ornithine lactam application is as a control to aid in the exploration of the biological role of L-ornithine lactam.
