Erythromycin C (3’’-O-demethylerythromycin A) is a minor co-metabolite of erythromycin produced by Saccharopolyspora erythreae. Erythromycin C exhibits a narrower spectrum of antibiotic activity and is much less active than erythromycins A and B.
