Application Notes
Daunomycinone (daunorubicinone) is the aglycone precursor of daunomycin, an anthracycline antitumor agent. Daunomycinone has been used as the scaffold for developing new anthracyclines. Daunomycinone is active against tumor cell lines, L1210 and P388 (ED50 8.9 and 21.6 µg/mL, respectively) but inactive against KB cell line.
