Shearamide A
Application Notes
Shearamide A is a cyclic octapeptide isolated from Eupenicillium shearii by Gloer and colleagues, University of Iowa, USA in 1998. Shearamide A is an antiinsectan, active against Helicoverpa zea larvae. Shearamide A is reported to be capable of binding heavy metals, based on ab initio molecular orbital calculations. Lack of availability has limited research into this interesting metabolite.
