Oosporein benzofuran is a diquinone that was first produced synthetically as a side product in the last step of the biaryl oosporein total synthesis. The biological activity of oopsporein benzofuran has not been reported, although oosporein has wide-ranging antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity and it is therefore worthy of investigation.
