Arenicolin B
Application Notes
Arenicolin B is a member of a C-glycosylated didepside complex isolated in a collaboration between Bills, University of Texas, and Gloer, University of Iowa, USA, from strains of Penicillium arenicola in 2020. Arenicolin B is the presumed biosynthetic precusor of arenicolin A, with a carboyxlic acid in place of the cyclohexenone glycosyl ester group. Arenicolin B did not show cytotoxic or antimicrobial activity, whereas arenicolin A demonstrated moderate activity against HCT-116 and IMR-32 cancer cell lines.
