Phe-L-Pro, L-
Application Notes
L-Phe-L-Pro (phenylalanylproline) is a dipeptide isolated from Streptomyces lavendulae no. 314. L-Phe-L-Pro is an incomplete breakdown product of protein catabolism. L-Phe-L-Pro demonstrates cholesterol-lowering activity in hypercholesterolemic rats via decreased ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) expression in the rat jejunum and reduced cholesterol absorption in Caco-2 cells.
